It was my Birthday!!!

Yes it was and boy was I spoilt!!!!

I had lots of lovely things from lots of lovely people and spent the day in Milton Keynes with my hubs.
We almost never get to spend the day just the two of us and when we do I really cherish the time we do spend together.
Soundtrack to the day was this fab cd which I have waited for ages to get.

Lunch was at Wagamamas. Steve has never been and I think he was impressed! I love this restaurant and the food never dissappoints!

I bought with some birthday money a really lovely wool military coat and then my hubs very kindly purchased these fab shoes for me!!!!

So from a high of my birthday on Friday my cold got worse and worse over the weekend. On Monday I dragged myself to the docs who diagnosed a bad chest infection. It has knocked me for six and I am still not feeling great. Lots of keeping cosy and Lucozade I think!!!!!!!!

Sniffle sniffle cough cough!!!!

Yes I have finally succumbed to the cold which has been flying around our house and today I feel carppy!
Still I have managed a little crafting, which is fab!!

Here is a recent card using some more kanban toppers which were reduced at my local craft store.
Simple card again but effective I think!

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Ok so I made some cards the other day using some sheets from Kanban and while I like the images I am not too sure of the cards.

Any opinions would be gratefully received!!!!!

It has still been busy here this week so far. Harrys results from his throat swab came back as positive so he too is on antibiotics now!!!
Good news though is that he has been picked as a prefect - very proud of him :)

Just wanted to say thankyou for the lovely comments left recently - they do mean alot!!!!

What a mad day!!!!

It really has been one of those days today. Actually one of those weeks if I am quite honest.

George came down with a stinker of a cold on Friday afternoon and no amount of dosing him up could prevent an ear infection on Monday. He has been a poorly boy but this morning he was up and in his uniform ready for school. I had my reservations but let him go and well he lasted an hour.
An hour later I then had a call from Harry's school telling me that my oldest had a sore throat and was quite unwell too!!!!! Following a trip to the docs it was confirmed that while his tonsils were swollen they weren't infected although they took a swab to confirm.
They are now both in bed dosed up to the hilt and we will see what tomorrow brings with them.

My tumble dryer has also packed up this afternoon - actually it started smoking which I don't think is a good sign :o) As finances are more than a little tight at the mo I am going to see if I can make do without one for a little while. Ha ha ha could be interesting!!!!!

In between all of the dramas today I have managed to make a couple of quick cards which I will take pics of tomorrow. A couple are Christmas cards - I know I know!!!!!
Anyway here is another Gorjuss girl card to show you. I really do love the images!!!

Gorjuss!!!!

Blimey a month since I updated!!!

Well alot of stuff has been going on (as per usual) but I think that I have got my head screwed back on and thinking straight at last.
A few decisions have been made regarding some relationships in my life and while sometimes I do get sad about it I have to realise that myself and my three boys come first. Our happiness and well being is my priority and now that I have laid to rest some issues I can concentrate on that.

Right enough of the heavy doom and gloom - have I been crafting?
Well yes card making but no scrapbooking unfortunately. A couple of weeks ago I came across some decoupage sheets on offer which featured the Gorjuss girls and I instantly fell in love with them. They are cute but not in a twee way and I want more!!!!!!!!!
Here is one of the cards I have made featuring the girls and some paper flowers which I must purchase again.

One thing which has also taken place in our family was my little munchkins 8th birthday.

This boy has the ability to make me howl with laughter and also brings tears to my eyes with the lovely things he says.
He is an old soul who has sooo been here before. He loves his mates and his big bro and is very loyal but get on the wrong side of him and you know it!!!!!

He is very much a boys boy but loves his Momma and lots of cuddles to whoever needs them.
He loves rugby and getting dirty but also still likes to watch Peppa Pig (secretly with me!!)

Belated Happy Birthday to my little man xxxxxx

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my best friend, love of my life, soul mate, the best father to my fab boys, partner I have known for half of my life, the person who knows me so well and accepts all of my quirks and insecurities, and who married me nearly 14 years ago.

Happy Birthday Steve - love ya loads mwah xxx

Busy Busy!!!

So the idea this holidays was to do some scrapping. LOL! Where did I get that idea from??? Crazy lady!!!!

Have managed to get a couple of cards done though.
This one I have done twice once for Steve and another for George.
We are massive Saints fans in this family so of course the cards must be done in yellow balck and green!
The stamp image is from Lili of the Valley. they do so really fab stamps and image sheets and this was just perfect.

Sunday but I don't care!!!

Normally on a Sunday evening I get a little sad as it's the end of the weekend and hubs and the boys will be off to work/school the next day.
Not this week though!!! Oh my jove no!!!
Steve has a week off and of course the boys are on summer hols! Yipeeeee!!!

On a crafting note I don't have a pic to show of my latest creations - that will be tomorrow. However my friend Di has been asked to join a DT for this lady and I have to admit these crochet flowers are on my need list!!!

Saturday, July 31, 2010

Didn't post yesterday or Thursday as have been (a) - busy!!!
(b) - still under the weather with my flaming hands!!! :(

Feeling a little better today so thats a good sign but have decided that I am going to take it relatively easy this weekend as I am not working and Steve has finished work for the week :)

Today will be spent cheering hubs on as he makes another appearance for Thrapston 3rds cricket team. Got my paper, chair, and book at the ready - bliss!!!

Needless to say my crafting has been slow over the past few days but here is one I managed to create the other day.
Like to think its simple but effective ;)

Mid week already!!!

Halfway throught the first week already - my goodness!!

Its been a busy day and a rather painful one as my hands and feet are aching today. But I am settled down with a glass of something now and the boys are in bed - bliss!!!

Yesterday I was looking at a bag of scraps trying to decide what to do with it and hey presto!!!
I am quite pleased with it and it uses some of those pesky bits which we all keep!

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

I can honestly say that I have been really impressed with the Smirk For Men range of decoupage and papers.
I don't normally buy this sort of thing especially at the moment when funds are a little sparce but this set was good value for money.
The images are fun and appeal to a wide range of ages.

Its been day two of the hols and Harry has chilled out while George went to his holiday club again.
Love the hols!!!!

First Day.........

of the hols and apart from the weather and the fact hubs is not off until next week everything is lovely!!

I was at work on Saturday and although the morning was steady the afternoon was very quiet. But give it a couple of weeks and everyone will be in for school shoes and it will be manic.

Sunday we went to a friends house for her Mum's 65th birthday. Nic and her hubs did a bbq and the weather was fab. Nice food, a glass or two of something and brill company made for a lovely day.

I managed to get a couple more cards made on Friday and here is one of them. I always like to have a couple of thank you cards prepared!

Today I have just got Harry at home as George has been to a holiday club this morning and then a friends house this afternoon. Not quite sure when he is coming home actually :)

Friday, July 23, 2010

Its almost here!!

The summer hols that is and I am really looking forward to it!!!
I have to work all day tomorrow but then have the next 10 days off with my chaps. Yipppeeeee!

Here is one of the cards I have made over the last few days. I am happy to say that my mojo has been found skulking in a corner somewhere and I have dragged it out kicking and screaming.

I am still working my way through a kit I bought from Create and Craft earlier this year. There are some very cute images and background images to use along wit some fab ribbon I received from Kirsty Wiseman the other day.

The plan is to try and get some scrapbook pages done over the summer as i seem to have slipped where that is concerned. Then again I haven't crafted anything much recently until this week so even making some birthday cards is a bonus.

I must get some pictures taken of Bruce as he seems to have grown so much since he came to stay with us. Mind you he seems to think he is a goat at the moment as not only does he love emptying and eating the contents of any bin but I caught him sitting on top of the patio table the other day. Hmmmmmm what did we let ourselves in for!!???

Mid week!

No crafting to show you today although I have made some cards but need to take the pics - job for tomorrow!!!

I have been using a card kit I bought quite a while ago (see still on my stash diet...sort of) and have had a fab time making some simple but bright cards.

Change of subject:
Last week it was George's sports day.
Now George takes his sports quite seriously and although he isn't fiercely competitive he like to do his best.
One of his races was the sprint and he was so ready for this race. I was not so convinced as bless him he is one of the smallest in his year as well as the youngest.
The whistle went and omg it was like Forest Gump - he ran like the wind and won the race!!!
I was so pleased for him!

My boys only have two days left at school and we can't wait. Harry is shattered and ready for a break, George is George and just carries on really while I am just ready for six weeks of no routine in the mornings!

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Ooooooppps!

Suddenly thought today that I have not made Thank You cards for George's teacher and classroom assistant (not making Harry's he can do that himself!).

I remembered that I have some Lily Of The Valley images from eons ago which I have not used yet. The pic does not do the card justice and it does look better in rl.............honest!!!!!

I have been making again!

Yes I have been creating again and really enjoying it!

I made this one using Kirsty's first cd. All of her designs are funky and bright and really fab to work with.
All of a sudden I feel inspired again with my crafting.

On the family front my boys have one week left at school - thank goodness! They are both ready for a break and to be honest so am I. Steve is off for three of those weeks too!!!!!!!

I have tomorrow off work which will be lovely. My ma and pa are visiting tomorrow until Monday as they are taking Harry to the Fairford airshow on Sunday, while Steve and I will be watching George at a cricket tournament. So all in all a busy weekend!

Simple cards

Am really liking the Smirk decoupage set for men - so simple but very effective.

I have loads of birthdays in June so finding quick, easy but good looking cards is essential.

This was a card for my lil bro whose birthday it was on Tuesday.

Have had a play with an old cd rom today so will take some piccies tomorrow.

Saturday, July 03, 2010

Its been a busy week full of rehearsals and then shows! Harry did so well in the lead role - I was so proud of my boy!

A couple of weeks ago I bought some Smirk decoupage which was masculine themed.
I was very impressed!!!!
Images for everyone in the set and the matching papers are really fun.

Not done as much crafting as I would like to lately but now that things are settling down health wise, school wise and work wise I am going to make an effort.

Honest!!!

New member of the family

Meet Bruce!!!!!

He is our 12 week old Labradoodle and we love him loads.
We tried not having a dog but it didn't feel right. Emmie is still in our hearts and we miss her so much but this lil fella is lubberly!

Sunday, June 27, 2010

This is a picture I have wanted to scrap for a looooonnngg time.
My Grandad took this picture to the Far East with him just after the second world war. The lady in the middle is my Great Gran who was an amazing woman and lived into her 90's (infact she died the year Steve and I married).
My great Aunt Doll is on the right and Great Aunt Marg on the left - both of whom are still with us and who I love alot.

A very sad time

Its been a really sad week or so in the Feary household.
Last Monday Steve and I took our little Emmie to the vets and said our last goodbyes.
At 13 years old she was old, very poorly and very tired.
Needless to say we are all devastated and miss her very much.
Emmie was such a friendly little girl - although a complete scruffbag - but we loved her!

This is a picture of her with Harry taken in 2003 when she was 6 years old.
Sleep well Em xxxx

I cannot believe that I have not posted on my blog since Feb but things have been going on in our family which have taken me away from crafting for a wee while.
But I am back now and over the weekend I have managed to make some cards just for fun and for as long as my hands have allowed and I have loved it!

I have also been naughty and given into Promarkers and OMG these pens are just brill! All I need now is the new Kirsty Wiseman cd and i will be fine ;)

Will take some pics of a few items I have made when the light is a little better but for now here is a pic of my boys who to be honest have kept me going lately - love them so much

Am loving this!!

Steve very kindly bought an album for Valentines Day which I have wanted for ages. This woman has the most incredible voice and her songs move you in an amazing way.

No crafting to show you - its half term and been mad around here!!!!

Slow Sunday!

Have had a busy few days so am glad that today is for chilling. Have not touched any stash so I must have not had time!!!!

I made this layout the other day and it shows my ice cream monster - otherwise known as George. I didn't add the flowers at first but it seemed naked so gave it a go and actually its not bad.

I have a few friends who ae going through tough times at the mo and its hard to see people you care about hurting. Its even harder when you don't live near to them and so can't help as much as you would like to. Hugs to you all ((()))

Finally as it's Valentines Day I just want to say to my hubs that I love you and always will. xxxx

Proud Momma!

Am so excited this evening!!!!

So proud of the boy as he loves getting on stage and performing.
It will be hard work but oh so worth it!!!!!

Sk8r Boy!

Well starting to feel better thank goodness - don't do being ill - hate it!!!

Not well enough to do housework but obviously can craft (in my defence I have still been going to work!!!!).

Made a couple of layouts yesterday which I am pretty pleased with.

This one shows Harry on his 10th birthday and he is in typical pose mood. The pictures have been shouting at me to be scrapped for ages and so am now happy that they are!

Off to work in a while untill 5pm so I doubt any crafting will be done - boooooooo!

Monday, February 08, 2010

Its Monday!!!

Thats Monday sorted!!!!

Here is the second layout from the kit I bought. Again a very quick and simple layout but to be honest they are great for getting back into scrapping.

Not done any crafting today as have been at work all day. But as I am still not feeling 100% i may have a play tomorrow ;o)

Sunday, February 07, 2010

Poorly!

Yup thats me.......again!!!!!

Had a bad head cold last week which knocked me for six and then yesterday an earache started. Wasn't too bad to start with but overnight and this morning I could've sobbed with the pain.

Following a phonecall and visit to the out of hours docs - who I hate to bother - they confirmed I have an ear infection. It is soooo sore but hoping it will get sorted now.

Anyway no crafting was done today as I just felt so unwell.

Here is a layout from yesterday again featuring the boys. It was made using a simple kit so didn't take long but I like it.

Scrappin' at last!

I always say at New Year that one of my resolutions will be to scrap more............and it never happens.

I tend to make cards more which is great but I don't keep the cards. On the otherhand i have loads of photos begging to be scrapped and lots of paper dying to have photos displayed on them!

Soooooo today I made three yes three layouts!!!! Here is my fav of the day - my dad and the gruesome twosome.

Rugby ended well for England today although they made hard work of it! Still a win is a win!

Friday, February 05, 2010

So organised!!!

Well its friday and I am not working tomorrow so am really looking forward to the weekend!

Our money saving project has not gone well today as Steve's laptop finally died last night and so we had to ventue out this morning and buy another. Luckily Tesco's had a notebook which was ideal and so hubs is now a happy bear :o)

Also had a little bit of 'me' time earlier with a haircut. I love going to have my hair done. Its not just the pampering but having a gossip and a laugh with friends - good fun!!!!

Finally managed to get a photo taken of a Valentine's card for hubs. Again using stash I already had together with some chipboard which I inked and then triple embossed for a nice shiny effect. The hearts were covered in 3d glaze which I then cracked for a different effect. As always I couldn't resist some ink distressing and a teeny bit of ribbon.

As Six nations starts tomorrow rugby will be featuring heavily in my weekend plans! Big men getting dirty - good times!!!!!

Busy Busy!!!!

Did not have chance to update yesterday - what a busy day!!!!
Still it flew by especially at work as it was hectic which is just the way i like it. Lots of pretty shoes have come in - wish I had a girl (sigh!!!)
Sometimes I get the chance to make girly cards though. For some reason I have a few Dufex decoupage sheets and so used one for this card. Very girly but making use of all the stuff I have around me.
George has a party to go to on Sunday and this card is for his friend Scarlett. Am loving that name (fav film), infact I wanted Harry to be Katie Scarlett if he was a girl. Steve put his foot down and we settled for Lara Beth (fav film and book).
Today I have Steve keeping me company - yay!!!! Lets see what the day brings shall we? xxx

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

Funny Old Day

Lots of stuff going on yesterday and today which were not great but life goes on!
Am on a mission this year to try and not buy any new stash and try and use up what i already have (which is really alot!!!)
So..........here is a new home card made using some paper from a magazine and some images from lilli of the Valley. Added some flowers as it still seemed a little naked - result!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Ok so a little belated with the New Year greetings but better late than never!

We had a busy December hence my abscence but the holidays were great and filled with fun and laughter with family.

One bad point was me being diagnosed with arthritus in my hands and feet. Must admit to be stunned at first but have been taking some medication and feel good at the mo so am feeling optimistic about it! :o)

My car has been replaced with another Fiesta so hopefully that is sorted - although because i am making an effort to walk more I am not driving much. But at least it is on the drive more than in the Ford Garage now which is fab!!!!

I have been crafting a little when my hands (and time) has allowed me and have taken a few pics but need to take them off the camera. Actually I need to take the Christmas pics off there too - how awful!!!!!

Right think I am caught up with the latest news in the Feary house - here is a bad pic of Harry dressed as a Pickle Boy for a Church concert.
