I just wanted to say......

Have a lovely Christmas Everyone!
This will be my last post for a couple of days as my Mum and Dad will be arriving soon and the festivities will begin in earnest.
I hope all of you have a lovely time with family and friends.
We will see you on the other side!!!! xxxxx

Oooooooo I feel ready for Christmas!

Oh yes i really am feeling ready for the holidays.

Today I had my hair cut and coloured in time for Xmas. Then I finished work until 27th - yipeeeeeeeee!

Tonight we attended Harry's Carol Concert as a family at the local Parish Church. It was really lovely - we sang hymns and listened to the nativity. I am feeling so chilled out tonight - bliss!

We are on a countdown!

Well I am anyway ha ha ha!

The boys are in their final week at school and I have just three days at work this week and then we are just waiting for Steve to finish next week. Poor chap does have to work from home next Wednesday but I don't think he will be working all day (fingers crossed).

We had a lovely day on Sunday - good food and good company what more could you want?
Back to earth yesterday with a shopping trip to Tescos and a little crafting last night.

I have finally made a start on my Christmas journal. Yes I know Shimelle started hers on the 1st but I am getting there and I will complete this one this year LOl!

Oh and we had a visitor last night.......SANTA!!!!!! Courtesy of the local fire brigade Santa came a visiting - now I know its near Christmas xxxxx

Ear Ear!!!

Here as promised is a picture of George complete with Monkey ears and they are so fab! :)
We are now at the end of the Christmas plays for both of the boys and oh they were so good. The amount of effort made by the children and staff was amazing and so appreciated by us parents. We are so proud of our boys :)
Needless to say though they were both shattered last night and infact they are still today. Luckily they have just one week left at school and then its break up for Christmas - yippeeeee!
Yesterday I made a couple of 'items' which I may give as pressies so I won't load piccies up on here just yet. But I was certainly pleased to be creating again :)
Today I have been at work and boy it has been manic! we think we took approx four/five times as much as this time last year which is fantastic given the economic climate. I was certainly glad to get home to my boys though after a busy day.
Tomorrow morning is the usual with rugby training and then followed by an afternoon at a friends house for a spot of lunch - ahhhh bliss! xxxx

Cards to show!

I really really love this snowman stamp which by the way you can purchase here as part of a Christmas set.

At craft club recently I wanted to do two cards made in exactly the same way but using different colours just to demonstrate the different effects you can achieve. Needless to say the cards were given to my boys and are now sitting on my mantlepiece.

Just popping in quickly to say.....

Hi!!!!!

Blimey it's Thursday already and I haven't blogged since Monday.

This week is quite a whirlwind what with work oh and the boys concerts. We went to see both of them yesterday and well.........? It was deffo proud Momma moment for me.
George was a monkey in his play with satellite dishes for ears. I am going to try to get a piccie of him before tonights performance as honestly them lug oles are priceless. He said his very important line perfectly and in my mind he stole the show!!! LOL!!!

And Harry's concert? His choir have been practising for twelve weeks with a spanish nativity. It lasts for about 20 mins and is sung entirely in spanish. The end result was fantastic really and truely and I was so entranced by it that I forgot to take a piccie or video......doh!!!!
In the second half Harry sang with a couple of other choirs (which I did video Mum and Dad so you can watch it) and again the performances were fantastic.
I do have a little story to tell regarding one of the songs:
Last night I was ironing a shirt for Harry to wear for the concert when he comes up to me and honestly this is what he said word for word.
H - 'Mum you know I am doing this concert tonight?'
Me - 'Yes Harry..... why?'
H - 'Well I thought I would let you know that I am singing a solo verse in one of the songs'
Me - ' Oh Harry thats fantastic. Oh wow!!'
H - 'Yeah its ok.'
And then he walked off!!!! The way he said it was just 'Yeah I have a solo but its no biggy' Honestly!!!!!!!

Right I am off to chivvy the boys along. Do the school run and then do battle in the Post Office (oh no not the Post Office!!!!!)

I am feeling a little Christmassy!

Well on Saturday I didn't quite make it to the big light switch on.

Claire and I got there just as everyone was leaving :(
But........the boys, Claire and I met up with some friends and had a drink (or two) at a local establishment. It made for a lovely evening and when I got home I was greeted by the sight of our home all lit up on the outside.
Hubs had been busy while I was at work and wow it did look lovely.

So yesterday it was my turn to decorate the inside of the house and even if I say so myself it looks jolly good :) I am now feeling all Christmassy at last!

This week we have both of my boys Chrismas concerts to further our Christmas excitement. Harry is singing in the choir again and this year they are singing a song in Spanish!!!!! My goodness they have really rehearsed it well too and I am really looking forward to it. George has the important role of a monkey in his play which I think is about a penquin called Pete LOl! He has a line to say too....bless him!

Am hoping to get a few pics taken this week of a few projects and cards I have been doing. So watch this space! xxxx

It's Friday at last!!

Oh yes thank goodness it's Friday at last!

I do have work tomorrow though but I will be working with my friend Claire so the day will at least be entertaining :)

After work I am meeting all three of my boys in town where the switch on of the Christmas lights will be taking place. We love going to this annual event. Carols are sung around the tree before the big event and afterwards mulled wine and mince pies are available......bliss.

While I am out busy at work tomorrow Steve and the boys will be decorating the outside of the house and Sunday I will be responsible for inside decoration I think. Christmas is here slowly but surely! :)

I haven't done any crafting at all in the last few days but am hoping to do a little over the weekend. Hopefully I may have a few pics to show you too :) xx

Wintry Wednesday!!

Oh my goodness how cold has it been today?? Apparently we are going to have snow overnight - I really hope so!

Well finally I have had both my boys at school today, thank goodness. Both are on the mend now, although Harry is still a little pale.

I realised last night that I have not made a special card for Steve's Granny and Grandma.....oops. So guess what I started this morning before I went to work - yes you've guessed it!!!!

Tuesday, December 02, 2008

Yes thats right 2 posts in 2 days!

Oh my word what is the world coming to?! Yes I am here again. :)

So what have I been up to today?
Well...... I made a couple of Christmas cards this morning and then I have been at work this afternoon. I am still carrying on with my no new stash rule which, I must admit, is making me feel so much better when I see a pile of paper etc going down and a box of cards filling up.
In fact it is very liberating :)

As for work - well it was fairly busy but I managed to get my Christmas cards written LOL!

Nearly a month!!!!

Has it really been that long since I last posted on my blog :( How awful!!!!
No seriously I do enjoy putting my life into words on an almost daily basis but then you miss a couple of days, then a week and then before you know it its a month!!!!!!

So how has life been treating us? Well we have all had the usual coughs and colds which are going about at the mo and poor George has had a nasty case of colic. I really did not know that colic is not just for babies. Still he is back to school today but I now have Harry home with a cold, so I think I am destined to not be alone at the mo :)

I have been getting back into crafting and actually enjoying it. I am in the midst of making Christmas cards which is slowly getting me into the spirit.
This year, however i have made a promise to myself regarding Christmas cards. I have not bought anymore papers, stickers, embellies, ribbon etc and am using stuff I already have. Infact I am using stuff I bought when I first started cardmaking and yes those peeloffs have come out too.
I am determined that I will use more of my stash and am not buying anymore until I have made a dent in what I have at the mo.

Right I am off to tidy up and catch up on paperwork beofre the school run beckons xxxx

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

By Jove i think I have found it!!!!

My mojo that is!
Yes it has finally found it's way home thank goodness.

I went to craft club this morning and for the first time in ages I made something I am quite proud of!
It has really got to me lately that I have lost my enthusiasm for crafting. I love playing around with paper and glue and really lost my way for a little while.
But it is back and this morning I made this card for my nephew for Christmas.

The snowman stamp is really lovely to work with and I think may be one I purchase from Particraft in the very near future.

Anyway I am off to spend some time with hubs.xxxx

I have lost all faith in the 'System'

Michael Coombes was today sentenced for 30 months and banned from driving for 3 years for the death of William.
He will probably serve only 12 - 15 months.
I am stunned to the depth of my soul and I cannot bear to think how Williams family are feeling at the moment.
Coombes denied all guilt and has behaved in a disgusting manner towards William and his family.
Meanwhile Louise and Simon have held their heads high and fought for justice, keeping their faith in the British Judicial System.
Today they have been let down and my heart is broken for them.

A little behind....

But I think we are slowly getting there.

What with work, boys, school, house and Steve I seem to have little or no time recently to craft or blog.

Having said that though I have decided that I really really must get some Christmas cards started and as I have a large amount of seasonal stash I am determined to use what I have first rather than buy new stuff :)

At the weekend George finally got to play in his first rugby match. This is something he has wanted to do since he was about two years old and boy is he loving it. Only trouble is that our Sundays will now be dedicated to this. Oh well the club do fab bacon butties and hot coffee so there are some advantages ;)

It was my Birthday :)

Regular readers of my little blog may remember that last year on my birthday my foot was in plaster which made for a bit of a damp squib of a day. But this year .....omg my boys spoilt me rotten - they really did.

On my list was a Wii Fit which I was lucky enough to have but what I didn't know was that my lovely hubs had bought this pink little beauty!!!!! How shocked was I???? Well that shocked that I cried :)

I also had some lovely pressies from friends and then some money from family which will be spent on my girlie weekend in Cheltenham next month.

So I had a fabby day - thank you to everyone who made it special xxxxxx

It's Friday - yeah Baby!!!!

Thank goodness it's the weekend! I have no work so yeahhhhhh!

We have a quiet Saturday and then we have the honour of becoming Freddie's godparents on Sunday. We are so proud to be asked and the boys are looking forward to the day.

I have done no crafting this week (I know shame on me!) but hopefully I can back into the swing of things in the next few days.

As I have no project piccie to show you I thought I would post one of my two boys - boy do I love this two little devils :)

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Ok Ok I know...

It has been such a long time since I posted last but here I am ........better late than never!

Things have been happening here which have taken up my time but things seem to be getting on an even keel now at long last.

One of the changes is that I am increasing my hours at work during the week when the boys are at school. Those extra pennies will certainly come in handy!!!!

I have been a little unwell over the last week or so but hopefully the latest round of antibiotics will kick in and I will be back to 100 per cent :)

Here is a card I made a little while ago for my Mums birthday. I love using pictures for cards as it turns the card into a keepsake rather than something to keep on a mantlepiece for a couple of days.

Anyway am off to catch up on my fav blogs xxxx

Quiet Sunday :)

After the emotions of the last few days it has been nice to chill out over the weekend.
Yes we have been doing the odd jobs that need doing but we have spent time together and thats what is important.
The boys have been playing in the sunshine today which has been lovely for them and makes a huge change from the last few weekends.
This morning George and I made a rainmaker for school using a cardboard tube, elastic bands, rice, rice krispies and shiny paper. Are there any jobs at Blue Peter???????
Chilling out tonight infront of the tv as I am working tomorrow :( But its only until 2pm so not so bad.
This layout was featured in the Particraft magazine for August and I lurve this pic of H and Mum.

Justice.......finally!

On Thursday morning 12 people made a decision which we have been waiting for since May last year.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7611331.stm

William's mum, dad, brother, sister, family and friends have been praying that this verdict would be realised.
Louise and Simon have been so brave throughout all of this while the person responsible has made the situation worse by shunning all responsibility.
On Thursday he was made to take responsibility and he has to live with this for the rest of his life.

We miss you everyday William xxxx

Saturday, September 06, 2008

Not much to say really!!

We have stuff going on at the moment which is playing on my mind and to be honest at times a little upsetting.
I would just like you all to keep a family who are going through one hell of a time in your thoughts and lets hope that they get justice for a little boy no longer with us.

Monday, September 01, 2008

Been busy.......again!

Since coming back from hols I have been fairly busy getting back into the swing of things.

Steve was also off work last week so we were again making the most of family time, which was fab!

Infact I have spent very little time online or crafting because we have been doing other things :)

I finally found my mojo in time to create a birthday card for my Georgie who was 6 on Friday. :)

The Archaic collection from Basic Grey is fantastic and I really enjoyed making this card. The best thing was seeing my little boys face when he saw it ....... it was a picture :)
Talking of pictures here is the birthday boy himself infront of his presents. Doesn't he look pleased with himself?
My baby is six - where did that time go to?
Tomorrow is the last day of the school hols and the boys and I are heading over to the cinema with my friends son to watch Star Wars........wish me luck!!!!!

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Please help!!!!!

If anyone spots my creative mojo wandering the streets could you please give him a severe talking to and send him back to me :(
I have lots of lovely things to play with and nothing is happening - not a thing!!!!

We're Back!!!!

Well we were back last night but after a day of washing etc this is the first chance I have had to log on.
It has been a wet week but we have had a busy time visiting places and exploring the beautiful Devon countryside.
When I have sorted through the piccies I will give you a peek :)

It's Mid Week already!

Our house is just sooooo quiet without these two munchkins of mine. It is so strange.
They are of course having a fabberoo time with my Mum and Dad, so much better than being with boring ol' Mum ;)
Unfortunately I have just not had time to much crafting wise as I have either been working or getting stuff ready for our holiday.
I am really looking forward to a week away. We all need a break after recent events and it will be great to hae some quality time together.
Speaking of quality time together hubs and I are going out on a date tonight. A meal and the cinema are on the agenda and I can't wait!!!! xxx

Time for goodbyes.

Steve and his family have a long and tough day ahead of them.

This afternoon in Edinburgh they will be saying goodbye to hubs' Uncle Morris who died after a very long illness.

We are just thankful that he is at peace and no longer in pain.

Today I am going to keep Steve's dad and granny company and make sure they behave. It seems so weird not having my boys around at the mo. The house is so quiet and I really do miss them loads.

Saturday, August 09, 2008

Getting organised.

Well we are heading 'up north' tomorrow to drop my boys off at my Ma and Pa's.
I am a little unsure of how I will feel about this as it will be the longest I have left both of them since George was born.
I know they will be well looked after by Mum and Dad as I don't trust anyone more than them with my babies. :)
Infact the boys will probably not miss me at all LOL!

Here is a pic of the album I made at last weeks workshop with Traci. I really enjoyed the day and am looking forward to the next one - hint hint!

Friday, August 08, 2008

Its the weekend!

Yes at last its the end of a bit of a funny week!

On Saturday we are not doing a great deal but Sunday we are dropping the boys off at my Mum and Dads for a few days.
The only downside besides missing my boys will be that I have to drive home........down the M6 oh crikey!!!
Yes thats right Steve and I are getting to spend some time together on our own. OMG does this mean we will have to talk to each other ha ha ha!!!!

I have been looking after 4 children today and boy did I know there were 4. They really did test my sanity bless their hearts.

No crafting to show you at the mo but here is a pic from Whipsnade Zoo which I actually quite like. I hate having my pic taken as I don't think I am photogenic but this one isn't too bad!

Tuesday, August 05, 2008

What a wet day!!!!

Oh my goodness ..... the heavens well and truly opened today. It has just rained and rained and rained!

Went to craft club this morning with the boys and can honestly say that I won't be doing that today. They have just been at each other all day and it has really really annoyed me!
Needless to say they are now in bed for a well deserved early night!!!!

This afternoon I uploaded pictures from our day trips last week to Whipsnade and Warwick. I could not believe how many I took.... people must have thought I was a Japanese tourist as there are loads and loads. :)

The layout was another created for Particraft last month using Fancy Pants products :) To be honest the photo does not do the layout justice as it does look really good in RL ...... honest!

Monday, August 04, 2008

Bit further afield.

Today I decided to drive the boys over to the inlaws so that the boys could take their minds off yesterday's events.
This meant driving over there on my own with the boys for the first time. Have to say although it was nerve wrecking I did it and felt quite proud of myself. Its only a 45 min journey but the roads involve the A14, a couple of nasty roundabouts, and the fen roads.
Small steps as they say.......small steps.

Here is another card using the heart stamp set I mentioned yesterday. I made this card a while ago for hubs for no other reason ........ just because.

Tomorrow is hopefully going to be slightly quieter with abit of craft club thrown in too - hurrah!!!!!!

Sunday, August 03, 2008

Sad news again :(

Think the Feary household is having one of those weeks this week unfortunately.
We have had some dreadful news this afternoon concerning Steve's Uncle and Godfather. He has been ill for quite a while now and was admitted into hospital a few days ago but he suddenly passed away his morning. Although his illness was terminal we were just not expecting this news just yet.
Poor Steve is understandably in shock as is his Dad, Mum and Granny, who has now lost two sons.
Its not an easy time at the moment but we are trying to think of the good times.

I have posted a card which was in last months Particraft magazine. The hearts are part of a stamp set which is one of my favs and certainly on my shopping list while the rik rak and button are Fancy Pants. All products are available through your local Particraft demonstrator.

A lovely day today.....

I have really had a fantastic day today!!
I took part in a Particraft workshop hosted by the lady herself Traci.
We made a lovely album using Junkitz papers and naked book. It was just really fab being with other crafters and having no other interruptions other than 'who wants tea or coffee?'
Thanks Traci for a great day and for the lovely book we made xxxx
BTW I will take a piccie of it tomorrow and show you all.
This layout was made for the 1st edition of the Particraft online magazine and the 2nd copy is available right now from their website. I have another couple of projects in this one too which I am pretty chuffed with :)
The little cutie in this pic is my hubs - don't ya think George looks like him? It really is uncanny :)
I would also like to say thank you for the lovely comments left on here concerning our bad news yesterday. Harry is still upset but he was really touched that people had left him messages - thankyou xxxxxxx

A Sad Day Today.

This morning Harry had to make a really difficult decision but one which made me very proud of him.
2 1/2 years ago he bought with his birthday money this little hamster which he named Hermione. In that time she made us laugh and Harry has taken such care of her and given her so much love.
Unfortunately over the last few days she has lost a lot of weight and she has not been as perky as usual. We know she is quite elderly for a hamster and that she is bound to be slowing down but we felt she needed a check up.
The vet informed Steve and Harry that she was really not well at all and if not in pain at that moment it was only a matter of time. Harry made the decision that it was not fair that she should be in pain and so the vet put her to sleep.

We have all shed tears today and I know we will all miss her terribly especially Harry who loved his little friend so much xxxxx

We went to the Zoo!!!!

We have had a busy couple of days ut it has been fun!

Steve is off for the week so we are chilling out and have a few day trips planned.

One of our plans was to go to Whipsnade Animal Park. We have not been since I was expecting George so decided it was time to revisit.
We had a fab day, walked miles and boy was it hot!!!!!!
I have some brill pics to print out and do something with. For now I though I would share this one with you. I loved these otters, they were very friendly and extremely nosey!!!!!!

Tomorrow we are off to visit Steve's Granny who is celebrating her 91st birthday. She is a lovely lady and the boys always enjoy visiting her. In the evening Harry has a cricket match so its another busy but lovely day ahead :)

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Its the school hols!!!!

Thats right!!!! Oh boy six weeks.......bliss!!!

For the remainder of this week we are just chilling and catching our breath a little, but next week Steve is off for the week and we have a few excursions planned. :)
Mind you seeing as Steve's car failed its MOT yesterday and is likely to end up costing £250.00 squids to sort it out, I thank god for Tesco vouchers which are paying for next week :)

Here is another fairy card which I created the other day. Its very simple but you really have to love Scrapbook Sally paper flowers they really are fab! Think I may be investing in a couple more bags from Particraft at some point.

Talking of Particraft you have to check out Traci's Particraft blog for sneaky peeks and upcoming events this lady is organising. She is mega talented and if you have never been on a workshop of hers then you have a chance to in a couple of weeks!
There is also the latest online edition of Particraft Magazine being released on 1st August which I can't wait to look at as Traci keeps dropping a couple of hints about it. It really does promise to be a fab read with some brill projects to inspire!

Right enough plugging LOL!!! I am off to check my friends zoo as she is off in France for 10 days....... ahhh some people eh?

Mamma Mia

Oh what a fab night I had last night watching this film at the cinema.
It had something for everyone - laughs, tears and a bit of a sing song (well come on how could you listen to an Abba song and not!!)
I really want to see it again it was that good!
So if you fancy a girlie night out with your pals this is the thing to see - oh and don't forget the Ben & Jerrys Cookie Dough Ice cream to dig through while watching!!

Monday, July 21, 2008

I do craft sometimes......honest!!!

Yup thats right!!!! I have made a card!!!!

I used a fairy image which came free with a magazine for this one and teamed up the Scrapbook Sally flowers it looks pretty good I think :)

George had his sports day this morning and a good time was had by all in years one and two!!! I do have some piccies to share once I have retrieved them from my camera.
Only two more days at school for my boys and then its the hols. I am really looking forward to spending some time with them free from the routine of school and even better is that Steve will be off work for three of those weeks :)

Tomorrow sees me having a fab time with the ladies at the weekly craft group. I really really look forward to it as we have a giggle and make great projects with Traci.

Right am off to spend some time with hubs xxx

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

I don't 'do' butterflies!!!

No I don't do them at all in my crafting.
Although please don't get me wrong I love real life butterflies!!!

At craft club today Traci got me to try something different with the fab Adirondack ink pads.

And do you know what????? I actually quite like this card....... Thanks Traci!!!! xx

Tomorrow I am going with George's class on a trip to Twin Lakes.
Wish me luck!!! LOL!

He can't wait to get back to school tomorrow and it is only going to be for 10 days as they break up a week on Wednesday.

This week we have a school trip to go on and sports day to watch so its going to be busy.

Poor Spud!

My little one is proper poorly and caused his momma major heart attacks yesterday :(

His neck started to ache in the morning and by the afternoon he was screaming in pain (and this is with painkillers every three hours).
Luckily our lovely Dr was available at the surgery and he was throughly examined for half an hour before she decided that I needed to get him to hospital and fairly quickly!!!!
OMG!!! Harry was on his way at home and Steve was stuck in Birmingham until at least 10 that evening.
Still, I managed to sort out Harry with a friend and then got to him to hospital where they have diagnosed swollen lymph nodes :( Because he has had the ear infection for so long now these nodes have swollen up and that was causing the immense pain.
We were home yesterday eveing with clear instructions on pain relief and massaging so today I have my nurses hat on ........ again!!!!!

xxx

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

Mixed bag!!

Today has been a real mixed bag!!!

First off was a trip to the docs for George and poor little boy still has an ear infection :( So he is now on ten days worth of antibiotics. The doc was stunned that he wasn't screaming in pain so it would seem that my little soldier has a very high pain threshold.

I did manage to pop into craft club today and we were making a sample book of distress colours which will come in very handy - thanks Traci!!!

Made this card last night for my Bro's birthday and used my Cricut machine for the first time in ages. :)

Got Sports Day for George tomorrow morning if he is feeling ok that is.
xxx

Monday, July 07, 2008

Phew!!! What a week!!!

My goodness last week dashed by in the blink of an eye!!!

We have the usual end of school year events starting last week. Harry had his school production of Bugsy Malone running on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night which meant he wasn't getting home until gone 10pm!!!!
As well as that he had his sports day and his school trip - all of which made for an extremely tired boy this weekend.
The play was fantastic!! All of the cast and staff had put so much effort into it and boy did it show in the end result - we were so proud! :)

This pic is a card I made at craft class last week using vellum and Adirondack Pens. The overall effect is very cool and infact very Andy Warholish I think!!!!

Talking of crafting I made 2 things yesterday - whoopeeeeee!!! But unfortunately as it is for Particraft I cannot show you yet. :(

Right off to nurse my little one who is poorly ....... again!!!! xx

They did it!!!!!!

My friends Louise and Nic were walking the Three Peak Challenge today to raise funds for Brake in the name of Louise's son William. Here's the link again:

Well a couple of hours ago I heard from Nic's mum who phoned to say 'They Did It!!!!!!!'
I am so proud of my friends for doing this huge challenge during what was awful weather and emotional circumstances.
If you would like to donate to this worthy cause just click on the link above.
William is a special boy who we miss everyday xxxx

The patient is doing well!!

George is alot better today - thankyou to everyone who has been asking after him! Infact he is going to school tomorrow as he seems ok in himself.

I am working too for a couple of hours tomorrow but am free on saturday!!! Yipeeeee!

No crafting to show you at the mo but hoping I can resolve this drought over the weekend - I really really need to!

Here is a pic of Harry from the day at Santa Pod - I know I am biased but blimey my boys are photogenic!!!!

Poorly boy!!!!

Poor little Georgie is not very well today.
He has been suffering quite badly with his hayfever and to top it all off he now has an ear infection :(
What a shame!

So he has kept me on my toes today with docs appts etc etc. But he is good company at least :)

This piccie was taken a couple of weeks ago at Santa Pod where we indulged his love for all things petrol powered and fast!!!! LOL!

Nice and Easy!!!

Sometimes you want to make something but you don't want to think so much about what you are doing (if ya know what I mean?)

Thats what I was like with these cards.
Simple but effective i think ;)

Monday, June 23, 2008

Oh crikey!

Its been a week ago since I last posted!!!!
I am really not blogging regularly at the mo - then again I am not crafting too much either :(

Tuesdays seem to be the only day when I am playing with paper at the mo and this does not make for a happy bunny.

Things this week have not been great on the home front. We have had a big problem with Harry at school which was a huge shock as he is normally so good.
The school have been brill though and hopefully he will have learnt his lesson.
I hope so as to be honest its been a really emotional week for me and the lack of sleep and upset has left me feeling somewhat fed up!!! :(

Still life goes on and here is the card I made at last weeks class. I really like this card. Its got a mixture of techniques and I enjoyed making it.

No class tomorrow as Traci is in America training at Ranger U - lucky devil!!!!!!

Think I may dust the cobwebs off tonight and play with paper - I have really missed it!!!!

Oh wow!!!!!

The Foos were awesome - just really really awesome!!!!!
To hear 86,000 people singing My Hero was just one of the highlights of the night!
I have always been a big big fan of theirs but I am now totally hooked on seeing them live and next time they are here I will be seeing them again - oh yes!!!!!

I am also loving my car and the freedom passing my test has given me. yes it is still nerve wrecking every time I go out but I am getting there :)

I have craft club tomorrow and so will take a piccie of what I make to show you xxx

I am sooooooo excited!!!!!

Oh yes!!! At 8pm tonight i will be (hopefully) watching possibly the greatest rock band on earth!!!!!!!

Steve and I are going to watch The Foo Fighters and I cannot wait!!!!!!

Tuesday, June 03, 2008

Well...........?????????

Yay!!!! I passed!!!!!!!
I am so stunned, and still in shock that after all this time I have finally done it.
I was so nervouse but can honestly say that the examiner was fab and totally put me at ease. We were having a great chat and before I knoew it the test was over.

So yesterday afternoon we went shopping and we have (or will have on Thursday) a new car. Steve is still keeping the old car for work but this little beauty is our new family car :)
Isn't it lovely - I am a very lucky girl :)

That wasn't the end of our good news either. In the evening our neighbours popped round with a card for me and asked us if we would like to be godparents to their baby boy Freddie? Would we? What an honour and so unexpected as we have only known them for 2.5 years but we have obviously made an impression :)

Anyway am going to nurse my poorly ear as I have come down with an ear infection :(

It's Monday tomorrow!!!!

And boy do I have a big day tomorrow!!!!!
Finally at the age of ahem 34 i am taking my first driving test!!!!!!
OMG I am very very nervous!!!!!!!

By 1pm tomorrow I will know if I can buy myself a car and have so much freedom for the boys and i or if my poor instructor is stuck with me for a little while longer.

Please please keep fingers and toes crossed for me :)

Poor Harry had some bad news this week during a rehearsal for his play. Unfortunately just after he was given his part his voice started to break and although he has been having extra lessons he just cannot hit those high notes anymore. As a result he has lost the role but has been given another speaking part which doen't require so much singing. he was really really gutted but once he realised he would be using splurge guns he quickly changed his mind :)

I don't really have anything craftig wise to show you today - will sort some pics out.

Right going to have an early night - will be back with results tomorrow :) x

No papercrafting.

No I have not so much as touched a scrap of paper today as I have spent the day with my boys! :)

I did however have a quick go at a digi lo while infront of the tv this evening using a kit by Kirsty Wiseman.
Now my digi scrapping is pretty basic but I do enjoy having a go at it and am quite pleased with this result. :)

It has been raining here again today which is no fun but we managed to have dinner out and on the way home stopped off at Tesco to buy Sweeney Todd on DVD.
And the verdict on the film? I really enjoyed but it is very gruesome (well it would be I suppose) but as usual Johnny Depp is fantastic!!! He plays the odd characters so well and I really do enjoy the films he makes with Tim Burton.

Tomorrow it is haircut time for Harry ('just a trim Mum thats it' is all he says to me) and then we are off to craft club as usual for coffee, cake oh yes and a bit of crafting LOL!!!!

Its raining its pouring......

..... so that must mean it is a Bank Holiday weekend. :( It has rained all day today, but I have got some crafting done so thats good.

On Friday I had a proud Momma moment when George went on stage for commendations assembly to show off his modrock model. He was not at all shy and explained very clearly how he made his creation.
He doesn't find school easy and he does work really hard to keep up so I was very very very proud of him.

Harry is working hard too at school and having lots of rehearsals for his upcoming production of Bugsy Malone (he is Fizzy). It is a real honour for him to have a part as he is only year 5 (Year 8s usually get the main roles) and he is having to sing a solo. Boy will I need tissues that night!

BTW yesterday definately confirmed to me that my youngest son is destined to be a petrol head. He sat on my friend's hubby's Harley Davidson and the look of pure delight on his face will stay with me forever. The only problem......I did not have a camera with me which is such a shame as i could have made such a fab LO.

The LO I posted today is one I made last night using a pic of my boys and my nephew. The pic isn't fab as it is blurred in a couple of places but I had to use it for a LO as I really do love it.

Hope your weekend isn't as damp as mine xxx

Its Wednesday already!

This week sure is flying by!!!!! I really did have every intention of posting on my bloggy everyday but the days have really flown by.

Yesterday was quite emotional as it would have been William's 10th birthday. His family decided that the occassion should be marked in some form and so family and friends gathered to wish a special boy 'Happy Birthday'.
Labels with messages from friends and loved ones were attached to dozens of brightly coloured balloons and as we all sang Happy Birthday, his mum and dad, brother and sister released them into the air.
It really was a beautiful sight as we watched them soar high into the sky, and boy do they go high!!!!!
His mum and dad really did do him proud and I am sure that although he would have been embaressed he would have really really enjoyed it. :)
In addition to this I just want to post the link to Louise's fundraising page. Yesterday the funds hit £5000!!!! How fab!! So please take a look http://www.justgiving.com/williamelbrow .

The pic is of an engagement card I made for Harry's old teacher, Miss Lynch. She is such a lovely lady who has become a dear friend and deserves all the happiness in the world!

Anyway am going to go as hubs has just bought a Magnum ice cream for me. MMMMMMM!!!!!

A bit of a catch up!

OMG it has been a week since I last posted on my blog!!!! How did that happen?

I think my resolution for June will be to make post an entry each day ;)

Well it was craft club on Tuesday which was an interesting one. Traci is trying to get cardmakers to use scrapbooking items more (and why not!!!!). So we were given the choice of some scrapbooking kits and told to produce some cards.

As you can see I went for the Halloween kit and this was one of the cards i made. There is another one but the photo I took was a little bit pants.
With the bits left I am going to make a layout as I have a couple of halloween pics from last year.

On the family front Harry has not been well and I am hoping that the rest of us don't catch this bug as it was quite nasty. I have to admit to feeling a little sluggish this morning but think that may have something to do with a girls night out last night ;)

Well cricket is on this afternoon so that means a little bit of me time!!
Ahhhh I do like Sundays1!! xxxx

Lovely day!

Oh wow! It has been so lovely here today. I hope you have had nice weather too!!!

Crafting wise??? Well I have to say that it has been too nice to be stuck in my room so apart from a couple of atc's i have not created at all.

This afternoon we had the swing ball out and had a whale of a time! Not just that but I took a book outside and read. I can't remember the last time I did that and it was total bliss! :)

Hope fully tomorrow I will have a piccie to show you

A post at last!!!

Yes I know it has been nearly a week since I last posted but I felt that the last post should stay at the top of the blog for a few days longer than usual.

So I have been making stuff this week but this layout is the only I can show you at the mo :(
It was made using a kit from Traci and we all had a go at the class on Tuesday.
I was in my element and thoughly enjoyed it.

The weather is lovely at the mo and infact I am chilling out with a little glass of something at the mo - only the one Mum honest!!!!

Enjoy the rest of Saturday xxxxx

A Year Ago Tomorrow

Harry lost a classmate and friend and I witnessed one of my friends go through something no mother should have to .....ever.

It seems only like yesterday when I got that phonecall informing me that there had been a road accident and a family had been ripped apart.

Since then in an effort to raise road safety awareness Louise is raising money for Brake, a road safety charity, by taking part in the three peaks challenge.
Here is the link for Williams charity page

http://www.justgiving.com/williamelbrow

I am not asking you to sponsor Lou and her team (although please do if you wish), I just wanted to show you what an impact this little chap had on many many lives!!

Give your loved ones that extra hug this weekend xxxxx

It's raining, it's pouring!!!!

I cannot believe how awful the rain has been this afternoon and typically it started at around 3pm, just in time for the school run.

Over the last few days I have not been feeling very well so I have not made much card or layout wise. Infact I made nothing yesterday and the card opposite was made on Sunday :(

Mind you I did attend Traci's club as usual this morning and although I did make two lovely cards I cannot show them to you as she wants to use them for something which is in the pipeline.
Needless to say I am delighted she has asked me to take part and I just hope that my creations don't let the project down.
When I am able to I will obviously let you know what is going on. ;)

On a final note a dear friend of mine has had a pretty bad few days. I know that she does read my blog occassionally so am sending her and her daughter lots of hugs xxxxxxx

Yummy yum yum!

Don't you just love the smell of baking through the house on a Sunday morning.
George loves cooking and so was in his element making gingerbread men and choc chip cookies.

I acted as his assistant (as always) and we had a great time mixing and cutting out shapes.
After the baking was the decorating which he did all on his own while I was tidying up. After a abit I went to check on how he was doing and he had finished the two people pictured opposite. I told how good they were and he informed me that they were Mummy and Daddy holding hands. Awwwwww ya gotta love that kid!!!!!
Back to Monday tomorrow and oh my goodness where has the weekend gone. Its not fair!!!!!!!

Note to self.....

When your friend invites you and the boys to tea by all means accept her kind invite but do not and I repeat do not drink wine. It is evil and makes you feel crappy the next day!!!!!! LOL!

Yes I am feeling the effects of a 'couple' of drinks so am feeling slightly sluggish this morning. Still hair is being done later so I may feel slightly human after that.

Anyway back to crafting and her is the card I made in craft group on Tuesday. I love the colours - simple but effective. The stamps from from a set available at Particraft and I must say I am tempted by a couple of sets but am trying (very hard) to be good.

Am going to attempt to create something later when I am feeling slightly more human ha ha ha!!!

Blimey what a busy couple of days!!!!

Well since my last entry the days have just flown by!

I finally managed to download my pics from my camera tonight and have a look at the ones I took for Harry's birthday.

I love this piccie so much. He had alot of clothes from us and boy was he so chuffed with them. He really likes the skater boy look and to be hinest I think he has it just right here!!! :)

The weekend went so quick especially Saturday when we went to London to take a look at the science museum. What a place though! It is fab!!

Anyway to crafting and I made a card today which I will post tomorrow! Traci was letting us play with a set of stamps which are available to buy from your local Particraft demonstrator. Have to admit the stamps were lovely and I possibly could be tempted.

Right it is a big night for Liverpool tonight who are playing Chelsea - please please let the reds win as I want hubby in a good mood when he comes home!!!!!

Forgot to show you this.....

Silly me forgot to show you the inside of Harry's card the other day - what a wally.

Anyway the boy had a 'cool and fab' borthday yesterday. He chose what he wanted to do and we obliged!!!!!!
Present opening was the start, followed by Macd's breakfast, shopping at ToysrUs and then lunch at Frankie and Benny's. Does it get any better than that???

I got some really brill piccies of him yesterday so will post them tomorrow. He looked very cool in his new clothes - infact he looked so grown up.

All in all he had a great tenth birthday, throughly spoilt but he loved it!!!!!

A sneaky peak!

I thought I would let you have a little look at Harry's Birthday card which I made for him last week and if I say so myself it is rather spiffing!!!
I made it using a digi kit from Katie Hadfield who creates some really good kits at the Lily Pad store. Although I don't 'do' digi much I do like printing elements out and using them for paper crafting.
The piccie is a bit naff but blame that on the flimping bad light last week.
Anyways we had a good weekend just pottering around the house and spending quality time together as a foursome. The chaps have watched two of the Indiana Jones films in preparation for the new one whenever that comes out and they are loving them - even George!!!!
Harry is over at a friends house tonight on a sleepover and as always when he is out the house has been sooooo quiet. We certainly know which one out of the two talks the most and its not the little one. It does seem strange with just the one in the house and I do miss him such a lot when he isn't here.
Well I am off for a nice cuppa xxxxxx

A belated Happy Birthday......

to my nephew Kyran who was 2 years old on Monday.
As he and his parents have been on holiday for a week I have not mentioned it until today as they are now home.
It is very hard to believe that the little chap is now 2 years old - wow that went quick!!!!
Here is a pic of the card I made for him. I bought some stamps from Traci which had a couple of bears on it and I couldn't wait to use them.

Even more hard to believe is that my big lad will be 10 on Wednesday and I must admit to be slightly struggling with the fact that I will have a 10 year old child. I am refusing to believe that I am old enough for that!!!!!!

Anyway I have not crafted today but have spent some quality time with all three of my boys which has been lovely. Tomorrow I have been promised a fantastic roast Sunday lunch made by hubs' fair hands, so I may find a little time to play with paper.

Right a glass of cava is calling me xxxxxxx

Friday, April 11, 2008

Its Friday!!!!

Oh yes it is that day of the week I love the most (especially when I am not working the next day!).
I am sat at my laptop waiting for hubs to arrive home from work. He should be in a good mood as he has the whole weekend off to spend with the boys and I.
We don't have anything planned for this weekend as next weekend will be busy as we shall be in London for a certain someone's 10th birthday treat ;) I think the word for the next two days will be chill.... ahhhh bliss!
This piccie shows the bag made at craft class on Tuesday with Traci. I love going there as not only do we get to make projects with a great teacher (who also happens to be a fabberoo friend of mine) but the ladies at the church also provide fresh coffee and the most awesome cake! So whats not to like?????
Finally for today guess what plopped on my Mums door mat this morning after almost a month???? Yes thats right that lovely pop up card I was mourning a week or so ago. Apparently it is in good condition and my mum lubs it. So I am a really happy bunny!!!!!! xxxxxx
